UK Parking Control reported as suspended from DVLA access

A thread on MoneySavingExpert is reporting that UK Parking Control have been suspended from DVLA access.

The motorist won their POPLA appeal because UK Parking Control did not show authority to issue tickets. This is commonplace with UK PC, and most POPLA appeals against them are won on these grounds. The motorist then complained to the DVLA that they were giving out keeper data to a company which on the face of it, did not have authority to issue charges.

The DVLA replied that they could not comment on the POPLA decision, but that UK PC were suspended anyway.

Dear XXXXXXXXXXX

Thank you for your recent email regarding release of data to UKPC.

Unfortunately I cannot comment on the POPLA decision but I am however, able to confirm that UKPC no longer get vehicle keeper data from DVLA. If you require any further information please feel free to contact me.

Kind regards

Keya

At this point in time there is no information on when the ban started, why the ban was imposed and how long it will be in place for.

  3. Rupert still has all those wardens to pay. They'll all have to come up with a new wheeze for doctoring tickets to supplement their minimum wage, which very soon will be £0.00 per hour!

    JSA beckons!

  10. Does that e-mail actually confirm they're banned? It only says they no longer get data, what if they've got a third party doing it for them?

However, if they are actually banned, who's to say it's not related to the Fraud investigation, rather than their lack of contracts?

  12. Well the BPA cops out of dismissal from themselves.
It'll take something "serious" to get them banned. How about ticketing for stopping on an airport road.
"Serious"ly the BPA is fast becoming a huge joke. Let's hope the DVLA aren't swayed by their ineptitude.

  14. ....seems either they're not still suspended or they're getting their info from somewhere else as we just received an NTK from them for a ticket issued on November 10
