UK Parking Control issues charge even though ticket is clearly displayed in the windscreen

The Wiltshire times has reported on this case.

A motorist was issued a parking charge even though her ticket for free parking was in full view on the dashboard. She appealed and was initially turned down; the company offered to settle the charge for £15 rather than £60.

However, later on she received an apology and confirmation the charge was cancelled.

According to the paper the car park has been the subject of repeated complaints since UKPC started enforcement in 2013.

The Prankster notes that scams like this are to be expected when parking companies give their services to free to landowners, and make all their money from issuing parking charges. UKPC have previously featured on TV's Parking Mad for incentivising wardens to issue tickets.

  1. Had the same with AS Parking in Perranporth, seemed to be a whole strip of "ticketed" cars, most of which were displaying valid tickets.
