ParkingEye have apparently been kicked out of Fistral Beach, with Smart Parking taking over.
ParkingEye caused great misery at this car park, with confusing and inadequate signage ensuring a steady revenue stream for parking infringements.
The change between summer and winter tarrifs was also a great source of confusion to motorists and profit to ParkingEye.
The Prankster will investigate the new signage to see if an improvement has occurred - however, perhaps the best way to determine this would be to keep an eye on the forums and see if complaints about bad signage at this car park decrease.
Happy Parking

I'm off to celebrate....with a surf ;-)
ReplyDeleteWoohoo, whoohoo, whoohoo! That should eat into their profits :)
ReplyDeleteGood to see PE have got the boot...but are (Not so) Smart Parking any better?
ReplyDeleteThey aren't as litigious.
ReplyDeleteYET.........
What's a 1x hour or a 2x hour?
ReplyDeleteAnd does the 3x 'xxx' hour come with a happy ending to your parking event?
DeleteFrom the looks of it, nothing will change at all apart from who sends the tickets. This is still an ANPR parking surveillance system...
ReplyDeleteNo problem there then.
ReplyDeleteThis is an off-road car park so anyone in the approach is already on private property so just place a carrier bag over the number plate before you go through the ANPR point.
If they can't be arsed to properly monitor the place using foot soldiers then they aren't doing any job for the landowner anyway. They just hear the cash till ring for overstays monitored by camera.
Sign has usual breach of BPA Cop 21.1
ReplyDeleteIf I arrive at 8:59, it appears I can park for free with no time limit, as I have parked between 6:00 and 9:00.
ReplyDeleteNo BPA Logo on Smart signage a breach of BPA CoP?
