Parking Ticket Appeals Service

[Update. Both people who originally ran the company have informed The Prankster they ar  not involved. Additionally the company behind the service has changed and has informed The Prankster that the new company does not accept the liabilities of the old company. The Prankster therefore no longer recommends the service as the guarantee is essentially worthless.]

Most private parking tickets are not issued correctly and can therefore be cancelled on appeal. However, the process can be daunting and requires some reading up and research. While this is all quite possible, not everybody will want to do this and so a new company has been formed to take care of this all for you .

The Parking Ticket Appeals Service.

For £16 they will take care of all the appeals process for you, and guarantee your ticket will be cancelled. if not, they will pay the parking charge!

The service has been operating in a limited trial form for a while and so far has had a 100% success rate, with some appeals cancelled by the operator without the need to go to POPLA.

This will of course save the operator the £27 POPLA fee, but it is ironic that the operators realise the futility of carrying on when faced with the Appeals Service, while still forcing ordinary motorists to jump through hoops. The operators know full well that the people behind the appeals service have had a long history of helping people win appeals in the past and The Prankster can reveal that they still provide free help to motorists on the forums, while also running the appeals service

The Parking Prankster realises the service will not be for everyone.

However, if you are a busy person and want the problem to go away for £16, this service may be for you.

Alternatively if it is all too much to come to grips with, then you may also want to check out this service.

Happy Parking

  1. There seems to be some controversy here Mr P. It's around Poacher turned Gamekeeper. I personally can see the big picture, but when one has been so embroiled in the legal process, so much used, and some would say, abused, then I can understand the palpable anger.

    1. This is a different service from the one I blogged about earlier. The other one is run by a parking company person. This one is run by people who still give a significant amount of their time to freely help motorists; but if the motorist doesn't want to put the effort in this service will do it all for them.

  2. I personally do not have a problem with these new services. It is better that motorists have more rather than less avenues with which to deny parking weasels their ill gotten gains. A guaranteed appeal service will suit the average person who just wants to wash their hands of the matter and get on with their lives. One of the services benefits a parking weasel and while it leaves an unpleasant aftertaste, the weasel has spotted a gap in the market which earns him money while causing annoyance to the rest of them. The important thing to remember is that no one has a gun to their head with these services. A service has been offered and you can choose whether to use it or do the work yourself.

Anything which denies the likes of Parking(sh)Eye(sters) free money can only be a good thing and will contribute towards the inevitable tipping point where it won't be worth their while sending out threat-o-grams due to the small returns.

  3. Interesting development. I wonder if the vultures will start demanding to see a contract between the registered keeper and whomever is running PTAS though?

    1. Apparently they will accept a witness statement, as long as it has no address and contains no more than 7 untruths.

    1. You can get your £16 back through paypal, although sadly this still leaves the parking charge.

  7. They worked for me and saved me from my parking charge but they seem to have disappeared now? Unfortunate as I've just received another parking charge...

  8. Seems like a scam. I paid the £16 and they emailed me saying I have to wait for the letter from the parking company to come through the post. I've tried to email them today as the letter had finally arrived and it just seems as if this company doesn't exist anymore. The worst thing about it is that my fine has risen from £60 to £100. What the hell am I meant to do? I can't afford that kind of money. I really thought this company would help me out, obviously not. Angry isn't the word..

    1. Get the money back via paypal.
Go to http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=163 for free help. You are still in the game with everything to play for. The good thing now is that the fine will be cancelled

    2. What do you mean the fine will be cancelled? I'm just worried that they will hound me for that £100.

    3. Apologies for misleading information. If you use the moneysaving expert and appeal using their free help, there is every chance the fine will be cancelled. This depends on the parking company though
