Independent Parking Committee goes live

Their web site is here.

Currently they only have 5 AOS members; will there be a stampede away from the BPA now that there is an alternative, or will members wait and see how things pan out?

POPLA is currently under fire from all sides; it does not have a signed contract with the BPA; the independent board required by the government has not been put in place, with the deadline missed twice; the BPA are trying to enforce new tougher performance metrics, so that they can cancel if these are not met; the operators hate it because their are huge delays and they lose a lot of their cases. Now there is a viable alternative, will POPLA bite the bullet sooner than later?

The Prankster has to dash off to buy a rug right now, but will no doubt be looking at the IPC in more depth at a later time, and especially their code of practice and appeals procedures.

Happy Parking

  1. Rug? is that for the BPA to pull out from under POPLA?
